Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation:
Position mattresses and align materials, then operate the tape edge sewing machine to sew the border tape. - Material Handling:
Maneuver mattresses and guide the binding tape to be sewn around the mattress edges. - Quality Control:
Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure the finished mattress meets quality standards and specifications. - Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance, such as lubricating the machine, changing needles, and ensuring it is clean and organized. - Troubleshooting & Repairs:
Address minor malfunctions, such as re-threading the machine or correcting defective taping, and report major issues to a supervisor. - Production Goals:
Adapt to different mattress sizes and materials, and work efficiently to meet daily production targets. - Safety Compliance:
Follow established safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Attention to Detail: Essential for achieving a neat and consistent finish and maintaining structural integrity.
- Manual Dexterity: Needed to handle materials, operate the machine, and perform adjustments.
